Lily’s Pupuseria located at 15921 Ave 328 in Ivanhoe, Calif., the former location of “Mi Ranchito Restaurant,” specializes in Mexican Food and Salvadorian pupusas.

Delmy Liliana Molina “Lily” was born in El Salvador and came to the United States at the age of 16. She describes her family as “an immigrant family that works very hard.” Her father always had a dream of opening up his own bakery and pupuseria.

That dream became reality about five years ago. Lily became part of her father’s team and “La Espiguita Bakery” was reopened on Road 159. The bakery included a restaurant area where pupusas quickly became their specialty. Over time, they saw that the Pupuseria was something that made this town special. Lily describes Ivanhoe as a very pleasant and tranquil town, where the people are very kind and generous. For that reason, she decided to close the bakery (where they had been leasing), move and open her own pupusa and Mexican food restaurant in Ivanhoe.

When asked what she would like to see in our community she replied with, “I would like to see more support for the community in my town of Ivanhoe. We need a park where teenagers can have fun, a place to relax and shop in businesses like Lily’s Pupuseria, and enjoy the outdoors while eating delicious tacos or pupusas.”

Lily plans to improve every day with the business, always treat the customer with respect, and continue to thrive so that the customer feels satisfied with their purchase.

The people who have inspired and motivated Lily include her family. She is grateful for her father who taught her to always be honest and work hard. She also is grateful for her husband who has supported her through her journey of opening her own restaurant and helping raise their daughters so that they have a better future.

Lily shares, “We must always work with joy and move forward with respect and honesty. I am very grateful for all the people who support our small business. To all my hardworking people in the fields, thank you very much. May God bless you always.”
