The Ivanhoe Sol is a bilingual, community-run newsletter created to increase access to vital local and regional information for the community of Ivanhoe and Tulare County.
We are a fiscal project of the civic nonprofit Ivanhoe Community Council. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter. Email us at theivanhoesol@gmail.com.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. The Ivanhoe Sol was created to serve the people of Ivanhoe and the surrounding Central Valley, and we believe the strongest stories come from the people who call these places home. We are committed to listening, learning, and showing up because local journalism should reflect the communities it serves. Through our reporting, we aim to strengthen connections, celebrate local voices, and create a shared space where people can see themselves and their experiences reflected.
Trust is built through honesty and earned over time. We believe our community deserves to know who we are, what guides our work, and how decisions are made. We welcome questions, feedback, and conversation because accountability is an important part of serving the public. When we make mistakes, we are committed to addressing them openly and learning from them. Our responsibility is not only to report on the community but also to remain responsive to the people who place their trust in us.
Everyone deserves access to reliable local information. We are committed to making our journalism accessible by providing content in both English and Spanish and by sharing information through channels that reach people where they are. Whether someone picks up a printed newspaper, visits our website, or connects with us through community events, our goal is the same: to ensure more people have access to the information they need to stay informed and engaged.
We believe trustworthy journalism begins with a commitment to the truth. Every story we publish is guided by careful reporting, thoughtful fact-checking, and a responsibility to provide accurate information that serves the public. We approach our work with fairness and independence because our readers deserve journalism they can rely on. By holding ourselves to high standards, we strive to earn and maintain the trust of the communities we serve.

Rural communities are often overlooked in regional and statewide conversations. The Ivanhoe Sol was created to ensure the people of Ivanhoe and the Central Valley have access to accurate information that reflects their experiences, concerns, and priorities.
Our reporting begins with the people who live here. Community members help identify issues, share perspectives, and shape the stories that matter most to Ivanhoe and surrounding communities.
Help us identify issues, achievements, and stories that matter to your community. We also welcome community perspectives, photographs, and local knowledge.
