Tulare County Supervisor Eddie Valero hosted a town hall meeting at the Ivanhoe Boys and Girls Club on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 6 p.m. Valero invited the public to raise various concerns and issues within Ivanhoe. He was also accompanied by various other County representatives.
Highlights from the event included
- Tulare County Sheriff: Karoly T. Bostai with Tulare County Sheriff’s Department shared that graffiti clean up will be taking place soon. She also announced another season Youth Flag Football will be taking place at Ivanhoe Elementary this upcoming Spring and that coaching volunteers are always needed. Finally, Bostai let residents know that non-emergency calls can be made to (559)733-6218.
- Local Road Concerns: Johny Wong with Resource Management Agency was available to talk about any concerns with roads. One Ivanhhoe community member shared her concern about Avenue 327 and how it is only wide enough for one vehicle. Another community member also shared concerns about high speeds being traveled along Ave 328 and stop signs are not an option for highly traveled roads. Mr. Wong shared a number to call (559) 595-7140 for any road concerns in Ivanhoe.
- Ivanhoe Library: Darla Wegner, Tulare County Librarian, shared that there is a large funding availability for “El Dia de Los Niños.” She also let residents know that a library card grants access to 10 library systems in the San Joaquin Valley and over 1 million titles are available. - Visalia Unified School District: Juan Guerrero, President of Visalia Unified School District’s Board of Supervisors shared about upcoming Extended Learning Opportunity Funds (ELOF) that will offer more opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities in Visual and Performing Arts year round.
