Ivanhoe Community Council hosted its 3rd Toy Giveaway on Dec. 9, 2023. With the help of many individuals and organizations, the event expanded from a drive-thru event to an in-person event.

Every child present was able to choose a gift, take a picture with Santa, (a member of the church) and the Grinch, (Martin Isais), receive a balloon creation, and enjoy some cookies, hot chocolates, chicharrones, and corn.

Proteus, Lions Club, Jewelz Boutique, Ivanhoe American Legion, United Way, GoodWorks Fund BOS, Iglesia de Dios, Walnut Grove Church, Tulare County Sheriff and Explorers, and community friends came together with new toy donations and volunteered their time to put together a great event for our community.

Over 200 children received a gift at the event and more in the days following. Children of all ages were able to participate as long as they were present. Children were able to choose their new toy. Toys varied from items for infants to items for older teenagers.

The goal of the event was to serve our community by providing new toys to bring Christmas cheer to our youth. The goal was met by seeing children smiling as they walked away with new toys. Their smiles allowed us to know that the work of many created these happy moments for our community.
