The Lions Club has revived a cherished Ivanhoe tradition. The renewed annual Christmas Tree lighting took place on Dec. 9, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Ivanhoe Lions Club on Avenue 328.
The evening featured warm hot chocolate, cookies, and a check presentation to Ivanhoe Girl Scouts Troop 7130, culminating in the lighting of the tree.
Lions Club President Dustin Thompson addressed the crowd, saying, “This tree represents unity, represents family togetherness—whatever you feel in your heart that it could mean.” Once lit, the tree remained illuminated each night throughout the Christmas season.

The Lions Club then proceeded to present a check for $1,500 to the Ivanhoe Girl Scouts. It was the perfect event to celebrate the Christmas season in Ivanhoe.
