Community Events and Resources for November and December

As the year comes to an end, the Ivanhoe Sol team is excited to share upcoming events for what’s happening in November and December for our community. Check out these Ivanhoe and Tulare County-based events to elevate important community issues, share important resources, and celebrate the holiday season! 

Breast Cancer Screenings

October is breast cancer awareness month and the Tulare County Health Care Centers are offering resources for breast cancer screening for early detection.  There are two centers located at 2611 N. Dinuba Blvd. in Visalia and 660 E. Visalia Road in Farmersville. For more information and to schedule an appointment contact the Tulare Health Care Centers at (559) 623-0700. 

Child “Well Check Visits”

October is also National Child Wellness Month and the Tulare County Health Care Centers are offering their pediatric team to provide a comprehensive check-up, guidance on nutrition, development, and immunizations. Tulare County Library Book Festival

November 4, 2023

The Tulare County Library and its supporting organizations are hosting the sixth annual Book festival at the Visalia Branch Library, 200 West Oak Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be performances by Ballet Folklorico, Hmong Dancers, and Elite Dance Academy and free face paintings. There will also include various readings by special guests including Lee Herrick, the California Poet Laureate, and Eddie Valero, Ivanhoe’s representative on the County Board of Supervisors.

Community Council Meeting

November 14, 2023

The next Ivanhoe Community Council meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Ivanhoe Memorial Building. Residents are encouraged to attend. 

25th Annual Farmworker’s Women’s Conference

November 16, 2023 

Join organizations from throughout Tulare County Thursday, Nov. 16 for the 25th annual Farmworker Women’s Conference. This event provides educational opportunities and resources pertaining to access to health, immigration, employment rights, sexual harassment on the job, pesticides, and reporting domestic violence. Toy Giveaway

December 9, 2023 

The Ivanhoe Community Council will be holding a Toy Give Away event at the Iglesia de Dios, 15900 Ave 332. This event will occur from 11 a.m.-1 pm. This year the event will be an inside event with a photo booth, Santa will be present and giving out one gift per child (until supplies last), and cookies and hot chocolate will be provided.

Church Meet-and-Greet and Gift Giveaway

December 16, 2023

The Ivanhoe Worship Center is hosting a Christmas in Ivanhoe Meet and Greet. Dec 16 from 5-8 p.m. at 32471 Rd 160, Ivanhoe, CA 93235. This event will consist of hot cocoa, a Christmas stocking decorating table, and small gifts for each child while supplies last. 

 

4th Annual Ivanhoe Pizza Drive Thru

December 16, 2023 

Family Market, Ena Jumpers, Loza’s Taquerias, Big Discount Store, and Ivanhoe Drive-In have teamed up together to host the 4th annual Pizza Drive Thru. The drive-thru will take place in front of Family Market, 32948 Road 159, Ivanhoe, CA, 93235. Last year, over 150 pizzas, candy bags, and calendars were handed out in a span of two hours.
