IVANHOE, Calif. — The race for the county supervisor seat representing Ivanhoe will continue into November, with current District 4 Board Supervisor Eddie Valero facing former Mayor of Dinuba Scott Harness.

Forty-five percent of voters in the June 7 primary election cast their ballots for Valero — if Valero had received more than 50 percent of votes, he would have avoided a runoff election. Now the top two candidates go forward. Harness received 30 percent of votes, Kelly Culver 16 percent and Melvin Gong 8 percent. Gong later endorsed Valero via Facebook post.

District Four includes the towns of Dinuba, Woodlake and a portion of Visalia, as well as the unincorporated communities of Badger, Cutler-Orosi, Elderwood, Goshen, Ivanhoe, London, Monson-Sultana, Seville, Traver and Yettem.
