Spring has started and with that come new sprouts not only flowers but weeds as well.

On March 26th, the Ivanhoe Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) along with members of the Ivanhoe Community Council dedicated part of their Friday afternoon beautifying the Ivanhoe Rose Garden. Youth members gathered there shortly after 5pm to start working on garden clean-up as a great way to start their spring break.

The youth who participated dedicated their time getting rid of invasive weeds that use water otherwise dedicated to the Rose Garden, cleaning up trash, and overall enjoying their time together giving back to their community. Members arrived with masks, put gloves on, and got straight to work.

After the group did the first round of clean-up, and then Esaul Perez and Ruben Solorio from the Ivanhoe Community Council helped add the finishing touches by mowing the remaining tall weeds.  A collaborative team of enthusiastic members of the community wanting to highlight the beauty within the Rose Garden.

The gardens rosebushes are in full bloom, beautiful bright colors proclaim the change of season. Residents can drive by and enjoy the view once again.
