Proyecto de biblioteca inspira creatividad en la comunidad

El jueves 28 de enero de 2021 se instaló la primera mini biblioteca de Ivanhoe en la intersección de las avenidas 159 y 328. Como adición al cruce de peatones desarrollado en las avenidas 159 y 328, Community Mini-Libray también se instaló para apoyar la necesidad vital de apoyar la lectura y la alfabetización en Ivanhoe.

 

Ahora es más seguro cruzar una intersección concurrida y los libros están disponibles para que todos los miembros de la comunidad tengan acceso y los guarden. La biblioteca fue construida por un miembro de la comunidad, José Haro, quien compartió con orgullo que era su oportunidad de “devolver algo” a la comunidad. El primer juego de libros proporcionado por donaciones individuales y por las organizaciones sin fines de lucro, First Five y Read for Life. 

 

La Mini-Biblioteca está abierta para recibir donaciones de libros comunicandose con Esmeralda García al esmeg559 @ gmail o entregando libros en 15958 Ave 327. Hay un recipiente de plástico con tapa en el porche y se agradecen las donaciones. La biblioteca se reabastece al menos una vez a la semana o según sea necesario. 

 

También hay rocas disponibles en la base de la mini biblioteca para que los residentes de Ivanhoe se las lleven a casa y las pinten. Una vez pintado, comuníquese con el Consejo Comunitario de Ivanhoe o entregue las rocas terminadas en 15958 Ave 327 para sellar. Las rocas pintadas se volverán a colocar en las ubicaciones de la mini biblioteca. 

 

El primer residente de Ivanhoe en pintar una piedra fue Genesis, un estudiante de séptimo grado en la Primaria Ivanhoe. Recientemente pintó una piedra para la Mini Biblioteca de Ivanhoe y compartió que se inspiró en una foto de perfil de Facebook que fue tomada por José Verduzco y utilizada para la página del grupo: “Sabes que eres de Ivanhoe…”. 

 

La “Característica de Arte Comunitario” de Ivanhoe Sol es un componente de nuestro boletín que resaltará el arte que debe compartirse con nuestra comunidad. No se limita al arte dibujado. Si tiene una pieza escrita, letra o algo que cree que debe compartirse, envíelo a [email protected] y haremos todo lo posible para compartirlo con nuestra comunidad.
